Casa Pátio — A Contemporary Interpretation

Designed by architect José Paulo dos Santos, the Spacemakers studio was commissioned to develop the construction plans and interior design for this villa in the heart of the Alentejo—a project that encompassed everything from structural elements and the reconfiguration of the exterior layout to the selection of materials and finishes, as well as the complete design of the interior décor.

The villa reinterprets the courtyard houses that evoke the Arab influence in Alentejo architecture: a strong connection between interior and exterior, clean lines, spacious rooms, and generous natural light. Designed as a family weekend retreat, the house called for comfort, authenticity, and originality, combined with the contemporary style desired by the owners.

Contemporary in style, unique in detail. The collection’s pieces and the owners’ classic furniture blend naturally into the space, enriching it without overwhelming it. The fluidity of the rooms allows for larger-scale pieces, while the light color palette creates a sense of serene, minimalist comfort.

A truly unique retreat—tailored down to the last detail.
