An architectural project by the RISCO studio, Spacemakers was responsible for the Interior Design and Decoration project for the Athletes' Accommodation building in the City of Football with a classification equivalent to a 4-star hotel.
The building was built to make up for the lack of proper accommodation for the athletes and technical staff of the Portuguese Football Federation's national teams when they are training at the Cidade do Futebol complex.
The aim is for the building to serve the purpose of housing everything from the under-15 to the A teams. The decoration proposal responds to this assumption through formal and aesthetic choices, as fundamental factors in enhancing the value of the facilities.
Creative Concept: In geometry, a hexagon is a polygon with six sides, which can be broken down into 6 equilateral triangles. Its 6 angles are also 60º. In geometry, the number 6 is associated with perfection. It is the geometric shape in which a perfect circle is inscribed. Along with the pentagon, it is the geometric shape that makes up the soccer ball.
The creative concept of the project has the geometric figure HEXAGON as the anchoring element of the Interior Decoration proposal.
It can be seen throughout communal and private spaces, taking on a changing shape and pattern that adapts to the characteristics of each space. This geometric figure is present, in part or in whole, in the finishes and coverings of wall planes and decorative panels, in the treatment of floor finishes, in tapestry design, in the design of various furnishings and even decorative accessories, such as the textile pattern of cushions.
The concept behind the project, which supports the formal realization of the proposal, is based on the idea of giving continuity to "LOOK AND FEEL", translated into the spaces specifically designed for the players in the main building of Cidade do Futebol.
